  • Cookie Decorating 101 | Royal Icing Consistency
My favorite part about cookie decorating is definitely the decorating part, not so much the baking and prepping all the colors of icing. Today we are going to discuss Royal Icing Consistency and what differentiates one consistency from the next. Ill also give examples on where I use the different consistencies and don’t forget that
  • How to use tipless piping bags for royal icing
Well hello again, this is a topic that has always interested me but at the same time terrified me. When I started decorating sugar cookies all I used were Wilton Piping bags and Wilton Piping tips. I often wondered, “wow does this process get any less messy and time consuming!?”. I have to say that

Hello, my name is Cinthia Michel. And I am the owner and creative mind behind Very Cherry Cakes LLC. My journey started in Midland TX through the encouragement of my husband Andres Michel Jr in 2015. At the time I was working a full time job as a receptionist at a doctors office. In the evenings and weekend I indulged in watching YouTube tutorials on how to make cakes. I spent weekends on end watching tutorials and decided to give some of them a try. At the same time a dear friend of mine asked me if I wanted to attend a Michael’s cake decorating for beginners course. And at first I was a bit intimidated by my own self and self doubting, subconsciously telling myself I would do horrible. I decided to sign up and have never looked back. I fell in love with the process of creating a concept, baking, and decorating the final result.

During this time I also realized that there was not too many tutorials or people willing to help out “newbies” like myself. So I decided to record my first YouTube video. It’s really horrible but I keep it up to show myself of he progress I’ve made.

My journey has been hard, not always fun, but I want to teach you and show you that you can decorate cakes like the pros also. You can do it from home just like I did. And I hope that while you are here you find resources and information that is useful through your own journey.

I’m excited that you’re here and can’t wait for you to hear the rest of my story.
