Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter

  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder

  • 2 2/3 cups powdered sugar

  • 1/3 cup milk

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  • In a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and cocoa powder together until smooth. Set aside and allow it to cool slightly.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract.
  • Add the melted chocolate mixture to the bowl.
  • Mix using a spatula, hand whisk, or hand mixer until smooth and fully combined.
  • Using a hand mixer will create a fluffier frosting with more texture.
  • Use immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
